Raymond “Pops” Joseph Arceneaux, Sr., entered peacefully into heaven on Thursday, October 12, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of the late Rose Mae Benoit Arceneaux for 58 years. He is survived by his children; Linda Arceneaux Zar (Clark), Raymond Joseph Arceneaux, Jr., JoAnn Arceneaux Landry (Harold) and Cathy Arceneaux Orgeron (Robert). A proud grandfather of Brandy Zar (Chris), Bryan Zar (Brooke), Shelia Arceneaux West (John), Raymond Arceneaux, III (Natalie), Amy Landry Lecompte (Kerry), Harold Landry, III, Holly Orgeron (David), Robert Orgeron, Jr. (Ashley) and great grandfather of Shawn Lefort, Ryan Lefort, Austin Lefort, Raymond Arceneaux, IV, Dylan Bennett, Devin Bennett, Jesse Matherne, Jamie Matherne, Hailey Chauvin, Liam Orgeron, the late Rosalie Marie Orgeron. Son of the late Lucille Simon Arceneaux and Andrew Joseph Arceneaux. Brother of Donald Joseph Arceneaux, Sr. and Judy Anne Arceneaux Brown preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; Andrew Joseph Arceneaux, Jr., Robert Joseph Arcenaux, Gerald Joseph Arceneaux, Mae Rose Arceneaux Laiche, Jeanette Arceneaux Maguire and Inez Marie Arceneaux Wilson. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
“Pops” retired from the oil field industry, H. B. Buster Hughes, after many years of service. Upon retirement he enjoyed gardening, trawling, small engine repairs, a fan of LSU and the Saints, outdoors, and mostly spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 146 Fourth St., Westwego, Louisiana on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy. Marrero, Louisiana from 9:00 am and preceding to the church for Mass at 10:30 am.
