Nellie "Nell" Rae Ward, of Marrero, Louisiana passed away on December 28, 2023 at the age of 100. Nell was born on February 22, 1923 in Beaumont, Mississippi to the late T.O. and Demaris Byrd.
Nell was the loving wife of the late Perry Hilton Ward for 55 years. Beloved mother of Jackie Hilton Ward (Wendy), the late Raymond Carroll Ward (Patsy) Sister of Velma Byrd Walker, Mable Byrd Neal, Virgil Byrd and the late Elaine Byrd Duncan. Cherished grandmother of Shane H. Ward and Ian P. Ward (Janene); great-grandmother of Peri Celeste Ward, Olivia Genen Ward, Ian James Ward, and the late Alexis Nicole Marcik; and great-great-grandmother of Eva, Zara, and Mila Stewart. Nell is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Nell was an alumni of Beaumont High School in Beaumont, Mississippi. She worked in the Banking Industry as an Assistant Manager for 22 years.
