Myrtle Theresa Utley

Myrtle Theresa Bourgeois Utley entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, May 14, 2018, her loving family surrounded her. She was married to the late James W. Utley for 40 years. She is survived by her children; Robert “Bobby” Utley (Carolyn), Russell Utley, Rhonda Utley Engel (Timothy R.) and the late Roger Utley. A proud grandmother of Stacy Utley, Tracy Utley, Nicole Utley, Chad Utley, Timothy J. Engel, Jeremy Utley, Jason Utley and a great grandmother of seven great grandchildren. Daughter of the late Odile Berthelot Bourgeois and Euzebe Bourgeois. Preceded in death by her sister and brother; Pearl Bourgeois Pieno (Charlie) and Herbert “Crip” Bourgeois (Violet). Numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her as well, also survive her.

Age 84, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a lifelong resident of Westwego, Louisiana. Myrtle was a homemaker who would feed anyone that needed a plate and something to eat. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, casinos, loved to cut other neighbor’s lawns and mostly spending time with her family. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 3121 in Westwego for the past 10 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, Louisiana on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
