Manuel Joseph Rojas passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the age of 94. He is survived by his son and daughter, Lorraine Rojas Lewis of Houston, Texas and Ralph Rojas (Sharon) of River Ridge, Louisiana. A proud grandfather of Mattie Rojas and Brandon R. Robinson (Jason) and a great grandfather of Sean Delaney and Jessie Robinson.
Son of the late Albertine Victoriano Rojas and Emile J. Rojas. Proceeded in death by his brothers and sister; Lorraine Rojas, William Rojas and Emile Rojas, Jr. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Manuel also known as “Wildman” served his country in World War II in the Pacific and upon returning he worked as a commercial fisherman and trapper in Lafitte, Louisiana. He enjoyed his fishing trips with the guys from Leson Chevrolet, a regular at Jan’s & Boutte’s Restaurants in Lafitte, a boat builder, taught his skills to many of the younger generation and spending time with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 9:00 am. Visitation on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Gretna, Louisiana.
