Joseph Junis Dardar

Joseph Junis Dardar passed away on March 7, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 88. He was born on November 26, 1934 in Golden Meadow, Louisiana to the late Louis and Lorecia Dardar. Devoted wife of the late Maerine Dean Dardar. Loving father of Deborah Brunet (Clay), Donna Burgo (the late David), Karen Danos (Ronald), Patricia Beau (Marvin), Barry Dardar (Pinky), Tammy Plaisance (Russell, Sr.) and the late Blake Dardar and Jody Dardar. Proud grandfather of Clayton, Jr. (Angie), Alison (Jon), Kevin (Sarah), Michelle, Tara (Johnny), David (Randi), Casey (Mike), Ashley, Lindsey, Paul, Christopher, Nicole (Timothy), Shane, Samantha (Dallas), Russell, Jr. (Lacey), Ryan (Gina), Rani (Wayne) and Rafe (Britanny). Great-grandfather of 33 and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Brother of Roy Williams, Rita Plaisance, Gloria Badeaux, and the late Jimmy Williams. Joseph was also survived by many other extended family and dear friends.

Joseph was always a hard working, loving man. He had to quit school in the 6th grade to help support his family and was able to give his siblings their first Christmas. He was fortunate enough to own his own tugboat companies and retired at the age of 34. After retiring, he and Maerine spent their time trawling. Joseph loved fishing and being out on the water with his wife, cooking whatever they caught. He was a great fisherman, captain, husband, father, very proud grandfather who had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed playing tricks on everyone and playing booray. Joseph was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend the graveside service on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Westlawn Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue in Gretna.
