Hilton Gerald Landry, of Harvey, Louisiana was lifted into heaven on Friday, October 7th, 2022 at the age of 93. Hilton was born in Westwego, Louisiana on July 5th, 1929 to the late Emile and Stella Landry. He was the husband of the late Geraldine Philip Landry for 58 years before her passing in 2020. Devoted father of Angelia R. Landry (Daniel Gauthreaux), Kenneth A. Landry, and the late Hilton G. Landry II. Proud grandfather of Daniel Jordon Gauthreaux and Hilary Grace Landry. Brother of the late Myron J. Landry and Kenneth S. Landry. Hilton is survived by his daughter-in-law Jamie Landry, other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly.
Hilton was a 1950 graduate of Samuel J. Peter High School of New Orleans. After high school, Hilton went on to serve his country as a soldier in the United States Marine Corps. In 1960, he was discharged as a E-5 Staff Sergeant, he later served as a reservist. For over 40 years, he worked for American Cyanamid/Cytec Industries as a boiler operator. Hilton was a proud member of the American Legion Post 64 before it closed, and thereafter he transferred to Post 401. Hilton enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with his beloved family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A visitation will begin at 9:30AM and continue until the Mass time. Hilton will be laid to rest at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana.
