Dr. Frank Joseph Ullo, 92, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, surrounded by his family. A native of Marrero, Louisiana, and a proud Italian citizen, Frank was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and deep love for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Blanche DeFraites Ullo; his children Ethel Madden (Timothy), Elizabeth Dantin Franklin (Steve), Frank Joseph Ullo, Jr. (Anne-Marie), Michael Ullo (Karen), Dr. Thomas Ullo, and William Ullo (Cherie); his grandchildren Patrick, Jennifer, and Caroline Madden; Thomas “Reece” Jr., Amy, and Leah Dantin and Chase, Sydney Tarin, and Gus Franklin; Martin and August Ullo; Michael Arthur Jr. and Blaise Ullo; William Maybin Jr., David Auden, and Frank Ellis Ullo and Morgan Riemersma; as well as five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Althea Chimento (Tony).
Frank is preceded in death by his parents Mike and Carolina Drago Ullo, brothers John Chris and Charles Ullo, and son-in-law Thomas Dantin.
Frank served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War and graduated from Loyola School of Dentistry in 1960, practicing dentistry in Marrero for 38 years. He was a delegate to the 1973 Louisiana Constitutional Convention. Frank had a passion for traveling, running, biking, hunting, fishing, and cheering on the Saints, and he cherished attending his grandchildren's sporting events, performances, graduations, and family celebrations.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church in Marrero on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at noon, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. A private burial will follow at Metairie Cemetery.
