Darlene Ann Sonnier

Darlene Ann Sonnier, age 71, of Gretna, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Marrero, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Gretna, Louisiana. Darlene is preceded in death by her father Charles Rodriguez. She is survived by her mother Hilda Rodriguez. She is also survived by her husband of 17 years, Paul Sonnier. She is the beloved mother of Christopher "Chris" Hotard and Elizabeth "Beth" Doty. She is the grandmother of Damon, Logan, Trenton, Nathan, Grayson and great-grandmother of Paige. Sister of Danny Rodriguez (late Karen), Malcolm Rodriguez (Tammy), Sarah Rodriguez, Nanette Saucier (JC), a host of nephews, nieces who will miss her deeply.

Darlene loved to do arts and crafts, interior decorating and spending time with her best friend, Lorrie Loup. Her favorite past time was spoiling her grandkids and her great-granddaughter where she would visit the zoo and park with them.

Darlene enjoyed spending time with her furbaby Allie. She also enjoyed sponsoring children from Third World Countries.

She retired from AXI where she was the head of Human Resources. During her retirement, she spent time watching "The Voice" and "The Mask Singer" as well as all the quality time she could with her family, especially her grandkids who were the "Apple of her Eye".

To honor Darlene's memory a visitation and service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072.
