Cynthia Louise Thomassie Bird

Cynthia Louise Thomassie Bird passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday morning, May 31, 2016. She was 66 years old. Loving mother of Monica Meaux (Andy Stiles), Darryl Bird (Ashley Dubose), Jerry Bird (Kim), Laura Bird (Ryan Bourgeois), Nicholas Bird and Tyrone Lapeyrouse. Grandmother of Jonathan Meaux (Ashley), Meaghan Bird, Taylor Bird (Linzy), Chelsey Brierre (Robert), Erik Poche (Kayla), Cambre Leaber, Bubba Leaber, Daralynn Bird, Jenna Marie Bird, and Alyssa Richardson. Great-grandmother of Landon Meaux, Ashton Brierre, Reece Brierre, Kamron Bird, Kimberlyn Bird, Delvin Poche, and Dakota Poche. Sister of Michael Thomassie (Linda), Margie Lee (Vernon), Gerald Thomassie (Shay), William Thomassie (Mimi). Daughter of the late William Thomassie and Beverly Brown. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Cindy was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Plaquemines Parish. She was a graduate of Behrman High School, and worked as a technician Alere Laboratories for 15 years. She was a youth group leader at Faith Christian Fellowship in Gretna for many years. She was always a very avid Saints fan, and very proud of her two “movie star” sons on Street Outlaws New Orleans. She will be dearly missed by all. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service from THE CYPRESS, 9338 Highway 23, Belle Chasse, on Sunday afternoon, June 5, 2016 from 2:00 until 7:00.
