Carol Joseph Clements, 79, of Westwego, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 8th, 2023, in his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. A graduate of West Jefferson High School Class of 1963, Carol enlisted in the Army National Guard (SP4, 205th Engineer Battalion). He was a member, Past Post Commander, and State Commander of Amvets Post 38.
In 1971, Carol met the love of his life and the person with whom he would spend the next 50 years. Together they raised two loving sons, who, along with their grandsons, were their pride and joy. A resident of Orlando, Florida for 29 years, they met lifelong friends Rudy and Lesley Koen and Jody Bradley, before retiring home to Westwego. A lover of NASCAR, LSU, wrestling and sitting in his swing with Chief. Carol was a self-employed builder, and working with his hands was more than a business; it was a lifestyle. He was surrounded by love, especially in the last few years from his wife and two sisters-in-law, who ensured his comfort and surely prolonged his life.
Beloved husband of Jackie Brignac Clements. Father of Patrick Michael Clements and Michael Paul Clements (Stephanie). Grandfather of Gavin and Noah Clements. Born to the late Gavin “Nat” and Mildred “Millie” Clement. Son-in-law of the late James “Zero” and Betty Dufrene Brignac. Brother of Ronald “Ronnie” Clements. Brother-in-law to Kim Brignac Kraemer (John), Kris Brignac, Brent “Boogie” Brignac, Cody Brignac, Sr. (Norma). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Friday, April 14, 2023. Mass will begin at 4pm, with Visitation from 5-8.
