Carl Jude Kempf Sr.

Carl Jude Kempf, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021 at the age of 83. Carl grew up in Algiers, Louisiana and was a native to the Westbank, born to the late Joseph J. Kempf and Violet Eva Prevost on May 28th, 1937. Loving father to Joanne Waldrop (Bart) and Carl J. Kempf, Jr. (Katie). He was called Paw Paw by his grandchildren Raegan Gaubert (Ryan), Sage Kempf, Jeb Rome (Paige), Carlie Kempf, and Cade Kempf and his great grandchildren Ryleigh Gaubert, Parker Rome, Rowen Gaubert, and Rory Rome. Carl was also brother to the late, Joseph P. Kempf. He is survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

On April 2nd, 1956 Carl enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served our country for 6 prideful years where he earned the rank of Private First Class. He enjoyed reminiscing of his years skydiving for the military and continued to sky dive even after his service.

A Memorial service in honor of Carl will be held at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana on Friday, March 5th, 2021 at 1:00PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM. Carl will be laid to rest at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna following the funeral service.
