He was the beloved husband of the late Gail Lee Morgan Creppel for 37 years; father of Stephanie Pittman (Freddie), Amanda Blanchard (Johnny), Christina Creppel, Juanita Creppel, Bryson Rusty Creppel Jr. (Mandy), and Felicia Polanco Creppel; grandfather of Alexis, James Jr., Keryn, Christen, Braxton, Morgan, Blaze, Bethany, Anitria, Bruce, Caleb, Kaylee, Vegas, Malaysia, and Christopher; son of the late Charles Junior Creppel and Vivian Gisclair Creppel; and Brother of Jolynell Creppel, as well as the late Chuck Creppel and Lane Creppel. He is also survived by multiple great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, as well as his constant canine companion, Roxie.
He worked as a tugboat captain, and loved anything that would have him out on the water. He was a hard worker and did whatever was necessary to provide for his family. He grew up on a shrimp boat, and owned tugboats and shrimp boats. He started driving boats at the age of 12 working for his daddy, and was basically a captain by the time he was 15. He will be remembered for the parties, seafood boils, tractor rides, and good times when he was home from work. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He loved his wife and family more than anything.
He beat cancer once, but his health declined shortly after that. He moved closer to his roots in Louisiana. He suffered in the last few years of his life, but the last few months, he was the happiest he had been, being with family and able to do things for and with his family.
A Funeral Service will be held in the parlor of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 1:30 PM. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM and continue after the service until 3:00 PM. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
