Larry Wayne Neumann

Larry Wayne Neumann, 68, of Marlin passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, October 2, 2014. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 5th at 2:00 pm at St Paul UCC, Marlin, TX. Pastor Ludy Manthei officiating.

Larry was born in Marlin, Texas on October 24, 1945, the son of Harry and Erna Mae Dieterich Neumann. He graduated from Marlin High School in 1964 and attended Sam Houston State and TSTC in Waco. In 1968 he moved to Dallas. Larry worked with Sysco Foods and Kraft Foods in Dallas, Omaha and Kansas City; Alliant Food Service in Dallas and PFG Foodservice in Temple. He retired in 2009 and was very active in volunteer work with Friends of Hillcrest Cemetery, Waite Cemetery, Reagan Homecoming, Capital Area of Texas Food Distribution in Marlin and on the Board of Samaritan House. Larry was a member of St Paul United Church of Christ, serving as Treasurer of Church Council, and President of St Paul Cemetery Assoc. Larry and Earlene Erwin Shaunfield were married on March 31, 2001 in Marlin and lived in Plano until moving back to Marlin in 2003 and building a home on his family farm. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ronny Erwin.

He is survived by his wife of Marlin, his daughter, Sara Parks and husband Dennis of Allen, step-son Clint Shaunfield and wife Bonita of Bremond, step-son Eric Shaunfield of Hearne, granddaughters Aspyn Shaunfield and Allison Baker of Bremond; sisters Ethel Horton and Marvin of Mart, Judy Davis and Mike of Mooreville, Kathy Ballman and John of Riesel, Connie Ehlers and Keith of Riesel and his brother Ronnie Neumann and Jenny of Marlin; a brother-in-law Johnny Erwin and Candi of Marlin, sister-in-law Maria Erwin of Penelope; uncles, Raymond and Daretha Neumann of Marlin, L.D. and Irene Neumann of Otto, Bill and Jane Dieterich of Perry, Wilburn and JoAnn Dieterich of Hallsburg; aunts, Erna Feldmann of Marlin, Florine and R.D. Pankonien of Marlin, Ella Mae Neumann of Marlin, Dorothea Neumann of Marlin, Eula Mae Neumann of Waco and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Larry loved to cook and entertain family and friends in his home. He was a good friend to many and a wonderful son, brother, daddy, husband, cousin, uncle and pappa.
