Everett L. Wilson, 87 formerly of Markle passed away early Saturday morning February 11, 2012 at Heritage Pointe in Warren where he had resided for the last few years. He was a 1943 graduate of East Union High school in Wells County and was a U.S. Army Veteran. After his discharge in 1947 he began working in the Burial Vault industry. In 1984, with his sons, he opened and co-operated Wilson Burial Vault in Huntington. He was also the Markle Town Superintendant for several years, retiring in 1987. Everett was a member of the Markle United Methodist Church, a member of the Markle Masonic Lodge #453, which later merged with the Bluffton Lodge, where he served as Master for 5 years. He was a member of the Scottish rite in Ft. Wayne and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 6671 in Markle. Mr. Wilson was born on February 9, 1925 in Wells County, the son of Charles A. and Margaret R. (Hatfield) Wilson. He was united in marriage to Faye Folk on July 22, 1950 in Wells County; she preceded him in death on August 25, 2007. Survivors include – 2 sons: Gregory Wilson of Markle and Garland Wilson of Huntington; a daughter: Gaylene Dalrymple of Jerome, ID; 1 brother: Max E. Wilson of Markle; 2 sisters: Agnes Baker of Huntington and Nancy Johnson of Bluffton. 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a 3 brothers Richard, Robert and Phillip Wilson and 4 sisters: Magdalene Crum, Phyllis Confer, Janet Cooper and Betty Blew. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle, IN. Services will take place on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, with Pastors Lloyd Hall and Steve McPeek officiating. There will also be 1 hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery, Wells County. Preferred memorials are to the Markle Fish and Game Club Park or to the Markle United Methodist Church in c/o Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle, IN 46770
