She was born December 4, 1921 in Yancey County, NC, in the Ramsey Town Community, to the late Rex Hedrick and Sarrah Ann Whitson Hedrick. Mrs. Greene loved to crochet and do word searches.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Greene, three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
