Rosemary Johnson Parsley, 80, of Asheville, NC, (formerly of Statesville, NC) passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Parsley was born on June 20, 1937, in Mingo County, WV to the late Floyd Johnson and Lena Johnson.
She was a devout Christinan lady and a member of Living Waters Assembly in Statesville. Mrs. Parsley was a sweet person who loved everyone and never met a stranger. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Parsley enjoyed writing letters to family and friends, gardening and cooking delicious meals. Her family says she made the most wonderful fried apple pies.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Parsley; her brothers, John Earl and Floyd Johnson; and a sister, Audrey Hicks.
Surviving Mrs. Parsley are her two daughters; Amy Allen and husband Dale of Asheville, NC, Julie and husband Matthew Kolodzik of Franklin, NC; a sister, Beatrice Purnell of KY; two grandchildren, Cayleigh and Jacob Kolodzik of Franklin, NC; and her beloved cat, Levis who always stayed right by her side.
