She was born October 18, 1934 in McDowell County, NC to the late William Pierce Jackson and Julia Opal Ross Jackson. Mrs. Brown loved to garden and raise flowers and she enjoyed canning. She was always on the go and working tirelessly.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Ronald Brown.
Left behind to cherish Mrs. Brown’s memory are her husband of 62 years, Vernon Brown; two daughters, Carolyn Mueller and husband, Robert of Nebo and Teresa Thompson and husband, Mike of Marion; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Moore of Old Fort; two grandchildren, Brandi Mueller of Statesville and Wayne Mueller and wife, Casey of Hickory; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Averie Mueller; two brothers, Bill Jackson and wife, Irma of Old Fort and J.T. Jackson of Candler; two “adopted sons”, Russell Hartwell of Nebo and Ricky Manic of Old Fort; and her best friend, Tina Lackey of Marion.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Kirksey Funeral Chapel in Old Fort. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral chapel with Hospice Chaplain Richard Anderson and Mike White officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bethlehem Community Cemetery.
