Mr. Walter McDaniel, age 81 of Powder Springs, passed away January 2012. Mr. McDaniel was an Army Veteran and a member of the Mableton Masonic Lodge No. 171. He was a member of Riverside Church of God in Powder Springs and retired after 42 years as a truck driver. Mr. McDaniel will be remembered for his jokes and prankster ways, but most importantly as a wonderful father. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife of 58 years Mrs. Shirley McDaniel, sons Kenny McDaniel and wife Wanda of Powder Springs and Butch McDaniel and wife Teresa of Acworth; daughters Angie McDaniel of Dallas, Sheila McDaniel Lamar of Douglasville and Kim McDaniel Wilkins of Hiram; brother Jesse McDaniel of Atlanta; sister Barbara Ann McDaniel of Marble, NC; 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog Abigail.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 1:00pm at the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastors Henry Swafford and Thomas Blagg officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the funeral home.
