Thomas R Davison

Mr. Thomas Richard Davison, 88 of Marietta passed away September 22, 2011. Tom was born January 3, 1923 in Newcastle, England, close to the family home of George Washington. After his schooling, he worked at the Blackburn Air Craft Co. where received his training in design engineering. He served in the English army during WWII. He was with the Royal Engineer Corp. building bridges in India. After his service he moved to Canada to work for Avro Aircraft. He then moved to the US to work for Lockheed in Marietta, GA. Most of his work there was on the C-130 plane and he travelled the world in connection with this work. After retiring from Lockheed, he continued to work for Knight Aerospace, as this was not only his job, but his passion. Tom was an avid supporter of the Braves since 1966 and the Newcastle United soccer team. He also loved playing golf. Thomas loved his family dearly and was a wonderful friend and neighbor to all. He gave a lot of himself in time and household jobs to children, grandchildren, and neighbors. One beautiful example of this is that for several years, every day, he drove his neighbor, Dee, to her job as she was unable to drive herself. He will also be fondly remembered for his sense of humour, his stories and the gentlemanly, gracious way he treated people. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, best friend, friend and neighbor will be deeply missed! But, we are thankful that he is now beginning a new life free of pain in Heaven with His Lord.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rose Davison, sons Colin Davison (Kelly), Rick Murray (Koma) and Randy Murray (Birgit), daughters Dianna Perrotta, Linda Zimmer (Terry) and Kim Wittsell (John), sister-in-law Margaret Davison and beloved dog Annie Kim Love. Tom was preceded in death by his brothers Albert, Alfred, and Robert Davison and son-in-law Charlie Perrotta. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 2:00 in the chapel of H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to Paralyzed Veterans of America or Cobb County Humane Society in Tom’s memory.
