Sandra Collins Millican

Sandra Collins Millican, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024. Born on September 23, 1938, in Miami, Florida, she was the beloved daughter of the late Wilfred Henry Collins and Celestine Conlon Richardson.

In 1960, Sandra married John Campbell Millican, and together they shared 44 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 2004. Known as “Sandy” to her loved ones, she treasured family above all else. She found great joy in raising her children and cherished her roles as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Sandy also enjoyed an active and vibrant life. She loved playing tennis with her friends in Chimney Springs, spending summers with her family in St. Augustine Beach, and weekends on Lake Henry in Lake Placid, Florida. She also shared a love of travel with her husband, creating many cherished memories together. Sandy had a green thumb and found joy in nurturing her plants, creating beautiful gardens that reflected her care and dedication.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sandy was preceded in death by her son, John Collins Millican.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Dancy Millican (Shari); daughters, Melinda M. James (Patrick), Melanie M. Peyton (Kevin), and Amy Louise Millican (Jennifer); her 12 grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.

HM Patterson Canton Hill is honored to support the Millican family during this time of loss. The Chapel Service will be held at our location at 1157 Old Canton Rd, Marietta, Ga 30068 on Saturday January 25th at 2:30. A reception will follow after the service for both family & friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Sandy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
