He is survived by his Sister Joyce McLarty, Daughter Cindy Reece (Jeremy), Son Steven Adair, Daughter-Sheila Lade (Josh) Grandchildren- Carina Avila, Talissa Avila, Tyler Avila, Patrik Lade, and Andrew Lade, Great-Grandchildren- Andrea Perez, and Isaac Perez, Nieces and Nephews, cats Midnight and Sunshine, and many other family and friends.
He married Nancy June Wood on February 11, 1956. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage before her death this past March.
As a young man, Ron was drafted and served in Vietnam as a helicopter maintenance unit with the United States Army. He earned the rank of PFC. He also served in the Air Force Reserves as AIC.
Ron never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation anywhere at any time. He loved to spend his days working around his house and yard. He enjoyed going thrift shopping at Goodwill and finding items to “fix” and make useful again. He loved deer hunting and going to the deer camp with Steve. Being there brought him great joy. There were many days that you could catch him riding his Waverunner, driving the boat, riding on his four-wheeler or cutting the grass on his favorite lawnmower. Mornings and evenings were spent sitting on his back porch looking out at the lake and listening to country music on his speaker. When Nancy passed, he missed her every day. He had her picture by his bedside, so it was the first thing he saw when he woke up and the last thing he saw before he went to sleep. His cats became his constant companions and he made sure they were in the house. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends and family for visitation on Sunday, October 6 from 4-6pm at West Cobb Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Monday at 11am at West Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be held immediately following the service at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
