Robert “Bob” Isham, 98 of Smyrna passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Robert was preceded in death by his parents James and Ethel Isham, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and his wife Imogene Pierce Isham. He has 4 surviving children and their spouses: Pat and Sam Cook, Tom and Vicki Isham, Lanette and Joe Weldon and Beverly and Guy Firor; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 12 great, great grandchildren.
Robert was born in Harriman, TN and grew up in Tennessee and Ohio. He served in the Navy during WWII from October 1942 to May 1946. After the war he worked at Oakridge, Tennessee until he relocated to Smyrna, Georgia in 1961 where he lived for almost 62 years. Robert worked as a machinist and retired from Sydel-Woolley. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing, painting and was very active in his church. He loved his family and cherished spending time with them.
A Memorial Service for Robert will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Central Baptist Church, 1502 South Cobb Drive, Marietta, Georgia 30060. A Committal of the Urn, with US Navy Military Honors, will occur Monday, March 6, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Georgia National Veteran's Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114.
