Born on October 6, 1926, in Eatonton, Georgia, to Lowery T. and Florence Taylor Hagood, Mimi fostered a love of teaching from an early age.
Mimi graduated from Marietta High School in 1943 and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Georgia College in Milledgeville in 1947.
Mimi’s love of and interest in students was life-long. High schools where she taught included Marietta, Oconee County, Jefferson, Athens, and Chamblee. She retired from Walton in Marietta.
Mimi was involved in local, state and national professional organizations. Her teaching and involvement included her life-long membership in at First Baptist Marietta (and other churches in towns where she lived).
Mimi is preceded in death by her parents (L.T. and Florence Hagood), brother (L.T. (Larry) Hagood), sister, (Ruth Hagood Chaffin), and friends and students too numerous to count.
