Mary Frances Hiett, 87, of Canton, GA passed peacefully with her children at her side on March 12, 2012. She was born on February 13, 1925 in Montgomery, AL to Cecil & Willie Rosser. She married the late Olbert H. Hiett who was in the Air Force and they lived throughout the United States and Hawaii. They lived in Washington, Hawaii, Florida, Arkansas, North Carolina, Alabama, Texas and California. After Mr. Hiett retired from the Air Force with 27 years of service he became a U.S. Federal Marshall and they lived in Texas, Colorado, Alabama and Georgia. During Mr. Hiett’s 20 years as a U.S. Federal Marshall Mary became a Marshall Matron and accompanied Mr. Hiett in transporting women prisoners. And, while she served as a Marshall Matron she mentored many of the women prisoners to Christ. Mary and Olbert made many friends throughout their travels and work. She was above all else a loving wife and mother.
Mary is survived by her two brothers Jimmy and Tommy Rosser, nephews Mike, Zack and John Rosser, nephew Greg Phillips and four children, daughter Cheryl J. Hill, grandson Thomas Richard Hill, Jr., granddaughter Trisha Renee Weaver, great grandchildren Ashley Hill-Denny, Shelly Shyanne Hill and Dalton Weaver and great -great grandchild Brayden Denny; Son Olbert H. “Skip” Hiett, Jr. wife Janis L., grandson Spencer C. Hiett and granddaughter Alexis K. Hiett; daughter Sara J. Worley husband Shelly D., granddaughter Shelly L. Huhtanen husband Maj. Mark E., great grandsons Hayden E. & Broden S., grandson Shaun C. Worley wife Mellisa M., great grandson Connor C. and great granddaughter Avery C.; daughter Raye G. Miller husband Ronald D., granddaughters Genay G. & Amanda L. and grandson Ronald David, II.
