Mabel Franklin Wright of Marietta passed away peacefully on July 7, 2022 with her family by her side. Per her request there will be no formal service. The family will host a celebration of her life at a later date.
Mabel was born in Monroe Georgia on December 10, 1928. At the age of seven, she and her little sister Addie Virginia went to live at the United Methodist Children’s Home in Decatur Georgia where she met her future husband Calvin “Always’ Wright. Mabel’s favorite pastimes included playing cards, enjoying girl’s trips to the casino, and beach time in Perdidio Key Florida. She was an avid sports fan and proud supporter of Marietta High School Blue Devils , Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and whatever team Peyton Manning was playing for. Survivors include her three daughters, Janet (Rich) Stolz of Woodstock Ga, Jill Buck (Mark) of Marietta GA and Joyce Hydzik of Rockmart Ga. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
