Louise Lindsey Bruce, 95, passed away on July 19, 2015 in Dunwoody, GA. Louise was born in Jackson, MS and lived in Charlotte, NC until the age of 10. Louise moved to Atlanta and has been a resident of the Atlanta area (East Cobb) until her passing. In 1936, Louise graduated from The Girls High School of Atlanta at the young age of 16. After graduation, she married Charles Foster (Scotty) Bruce on October 18, 1936 and they were happily married for 76 years. During their marriage, they had 4 children; Robert Bruce, Linda Bruce Joyner-Suchaniak, Judith Bruce Ashley and Charlene Bruce Willis. As all four children were growing up, Louise made it her full time job to be a homemaker\mother to her children. While at home, she enjoyed needle point, playing the piano and organ and was an excellent embroider. When her children were grown, she enjoyed being on a bowling team, a member of the Dunwoody Women’s Club and Assistance League of Atlanta with many hours of volunteer work. One of her goals in life was to travel to all 50 states and she accomplished this including Canada with the help of Scotty and her cat Chloe. After her traveling days were over, Louise was active at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and she and her husband resided in East Cobb contently with Chloe. Louise will be missed by her 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and her brother, Jarrot Lindsey. She will be happily reunited with her sister, Lucia Smith. Many will forever cherish her love for dogs and cats. The family of Mrs. Bruce would like to extend a special thank you to her caretakers; Noma Mkwananzi, Kathleen Brown and Christine Cash.
