He is survived by his children Caroline Tucker Banes (Brandon Banes), John “Jake” Martin Tucker III (Toni), David Joshua Tucker (Autumn), Troy Teal, and Nickole Tucker; his grandchildren Nevaeh, Keeton, and Charlie Ann; and his siblings Terry Brown (Windell), Michael Tucker, and Julie Tucker.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother John Martin Tucker Sr. and Gertrude “Trudy” Williams Tucker.
He was raised in Anderson, South Carolina and served as an active duty Marine from 1979-1986 and served in the Reserves thereafter. He retired from UPS as a deeply loved and respected automotive manager in 2019. He enjoyed gunsmithing, building models, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His knowledge and knowhow was instrumental in the repair and restoration of M5A1 Stuart tank with his son Josh.
A memorial will be held at Nutbush Presbyterian Church in Townsville, NC on October 22nd at 2pm.
Burial will be held at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on November 4th at 10 AM.
