Mrs. Edna Earl Miller, entered into eternal life, on Tuesday February 19th, 2019. When memories are shared of her, the foremost is that our Mom has been a faithful Woman of God and she loved Jesus. To describe her character, we would remember her as a kind, patient, friendly, giving, warm, welcoming and understanding. Mrs. Miller loved taking care of children and even taught in Sunday School for many years at the Marietta Church of God, that is now Grace Life Church. Serving for the greater good of Gods purpose gave her much joy an happiness. Her Grandchildren all have memories of Bible stories being read to them or told at bedtime.
Mrs. Miller had a big heart and would give to anyone who needed it; as exemplified when she gave her camper to a family in need after Hurricane Katrina. As the Matriarch of our family, she's our Mother, our Grandmother, and our Great-Grandmother, always having a heart for her family. She was also a Daughter, Sister, and Aunt to many. Her hobbies were many and varied, but her two favorites were working with her flowers, vegetables and fruits in her gardens and painting works of art with oils and acrylics.
She loved her flowers and made it a regular activity to work in the garden as often as possible each year. The family regularly enjoyed her bountiful picks, some canned and others freshly prepared on the table. She was an excellent cook, family recipes a staple at every holiday meal. With Chicken and Dumplings, and Cornbread Dressin' being two of her claims to fame. She was known for canning her green beans, and fresh fig preserves which we all enjoyed together during family get-togethers and gladly received as gifts at Christmas. Some of her favorite style paintings were landscapes; a few portraying the farm and family home which she grew up on many years ago. We will be displaying a few of her infamous paintings in her honor for all to view and enjoy as a tribute to her grace, skill and happiness.
When we think about our Mom we remember she always liked to dress nice and had an affinity for SHOES. A favorite memory by her Grandchildren was playing “dress-up” with her clothes and jewelry and many times did she catch them in her shoes which always gave her a big smile. Her personality was calm and gentle, warm, sweet, and thoughtful; always loving to laugh and had the tenacity to do so. She always worked hard remained steady to achieve what she set her mind to do; always hard working, always independent. Mrs. Miller has always been Blessed and she generously Blessed others, many times without trying to. While we know that she has entered the peace and rest of Heaven, we cherish the multitude of beliefs and values, Faith and love she has given to us all, and that gives Mrs. Edna Earl Miller, an eternal life.
