

Earlece Humphries Pearce of Marietta, GA, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died April 21after a short illness. Born April 23, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Bernice Humphries and wife of the late Richard Allen Pearce.
After graduating from Little Rock Central High School, she attended Ouachita Baptist University, working as a journalist for newspapers in Arkansas including the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Hot Springs Sentinel Record and the Springdale News. For many years she worked in the library at Haude Elementary School in Spring, Texas where she shared her love of books with countless children.
Above all, Earlece loved her family and was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. She and husband Rick lived in Germany and England and travelled throughout Europe. She loved family trips to the beach and travelling with her grandkids. Earlece read voraciously and loved lively political discussions. She was simply the best and most loving mother and grandmother anyone could ask for.
Survivors include daughter Michele and son-in-law Matthew Feldman of Marietta, GA; son Blair and daughter-in-law Lindsey of Burleson, TX; and grandchildren Zoe, Nathan and Josie. She is also survived by sisters Gwen Ross of Concord, CA; Janie (Scott) Blome of Louisville, KY; sister-in-law Kay Humphries (Bend, OR); and brother-in-law Mike Pearce (Brenda) of Huntsville, AL; an uncle, nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends. Her beloved brother was the late Bill Humphries of Roy, WA. She had a special connection with her nieces, nephews and cousins, even though they were scattered across the country.
A celebration of Earlece’s life will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son’s Canton Hill Chapel on April 26 at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta or Next Step Ministries in Woodstock, GA.
