Betty Duncan Howard

Betty was born in Ball Ground, GA on August 11, 1929. She was one of eight

children, born to parents Walter and Lula Duncan. The Duncan family moved to

Marietta, GA, in 1930. Betty spent most of her life in Marietta, graduating from

and playing basketball for McEachern High School, and meeting her husband,

James. Betty was a faithful member of Mary’s Memorial Baptist Church in

Marietta, GA. She enjoyed her many years as a media aide and retired from the

Cobb County School System.

Twenty-two years ago, James and Betty moved from Marietta to Homosassa, FL,

buying a home in the neighborhood where both of their children lived. Many

happy times were shared with their extended family and friends during their

years in Homosassa.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, James C Howard. She is

survived by her children, Mike Howard (Beverly) and Jan Blodgett (Warren); two

grandchildren; Britt Howard (CarrLee) and Michael Howard (Ellen); and four great-

grandchildren; Avery, Bella, Ethan, and Riley.

Funeral services will be held on Friday November 3rd at 1:30 PM, with the family

receiving guests at 12:30PM. Nathan Smith will be officiating and Mayes, Ward-

Dobbins will be directing the funeral services. Interment will be at Kennesaw

Memorial Park Cemetery, in Marietta, GA, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your

choice.
