Much as he did most things in life, Andrew Lee Saar left this life in a hurry due to cancer on June 15, 2023, just days before his birthday. Mainly, we suspect, so that he could claim to eternally be 46. Born June 17, 1976 in the hot Florida swamp called Ocala to Lee and Chris Saar (Harris), Andrew hit the ground running and never looked back. He spent most of his life running, biking, swimming, or generally trying to move nowhere in particular as fast as he could. But he did it all with a smile! Usually more of a smirk because he was winning, but he had great teeth, so no one minded. Andrew developed that charming grin as a young child as a means of getting himself out of whatever mischief he had conjured up that day. This pattern continued throughout his entire illustrious school career, which his teachers have not yet recovered from, until his venture into the US Army. After some luxurious trips abroad, courtesy of Uncle Sam, Andrew decided the Army was not the dream life he had hoped for and looked for greener pastures with fewer people shooting at him. He entered the world of computers the only way he entered anything, full throttle! He found great success in the technology field and was highly sought after for his skills. He was also highly sought after by the police, CIA, FBI, but he said it was for very different reasons. Always clever, Andrew managed to work 80 hour weeks while biking, riding, climbing and swimming another 800 hours a week with his good friends. He participated in many races with great success, while only kicking a few opponents, which always made us proud. Despite his many Ironman enemies, the few people who were strong enough to endure his biting wit found the brightest brain, the most generous spirit, the loyalest of friends and a heart of gold. Andrew was predeceased by his beloved brothers, Sean and Corey. He is survived by his parents, Lee and Chris Saar (Harris), his sister Amy Coleman (Saar) and her husband Joe, his niece and nephew, Austin and Annaliese, and his brother, Stephen Saar, along with a whole lot of family significantly less reckless in general. Never one to stop and smell the roses, in lieu of flowers Andrew wished for all of your money to be donated to one of the charities where he spent many hours volunteering : Atlanta Mission; My Sister’s House, Wellspring Living or Out of Darkness.
