Mr. DeRosa was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 4th, 1919 where he later met his lovely wife, Madeline. Although Madeline DeRosa passed last September they enjoyed over 70 glorious years of marriage. His Daughter, Anna, and his Son, Alfonso, were both with him during this past year, survive him.
John was part of a large, happy Italian family. As the second Son, he had a close relationship with his 3 Brothers, Tony, Frank and Peter; all of whom have departed. Additionally, he had 3 wonderful Sisters, Theresa who is no longer with us and is survived by Agatha and Carmela.
While married, John proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. Upon returning home, he continued his life in East New York, Brooklyn beginning his family. Mr. DeRosa was a dedicated family man always putting the wants and needs of his loved ones above his own.
He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. John has 3 Grandchildren, Carl, John and Karyn and 7 Great Grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, Nichole, Theresa, Joseph, John, and Ava.
John DeRosa was a proud, “stand up”, first class man with a heart as big as the sky. Those who were lucky enough to have known him delighted in calling him their friend. All who had the pleasure of knowing him will miss John.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15th, at Saint Vincent’s in Margate, FL at 11:00 a.m.
