He was born September 14, 1988 to Gregory Wright and Linda (Yamaoka) Wright and grew up in Marengo, IL.
Zach attended and graduated from SEDOM School in Woodstock, IL. He participated in the school’s numerous annual theatre productions at the Woodstock Opera House, where he gave many Oscar-worthy performances. After graduation, Zach moved to a group home in Winthrop Harbor, IL where he had many friends.
Zach was a very outgoing young man and was always ready to greet everyone with a warm smile and big hug. He loved spending time with his dad, mom, and two sisters mini golfing, bowling, and riding his 3-wheel bike, and napping with his two furry four-legged best friends, Kali and Simon. Zachary enjoyed going to McDonald’s with his mom for hash browns and his Aunt Cyndie and Uncle John’s house for lunch.
Zach’s big passion were roller coasters and he and his dad spent many summers at Great America riding every one of them. Zach also never met a hamburger, slice of pizza, or dish of ice cream he didn’t like, and often pointed out places to his dad to get his favorite foods.
Zachary will be deeply missed by his father Greg Wright, mother Linda Yamaoka, and two sisters, Ashley and Taylor Wright. Zach was preceded in death by his Grandpa Robert Wright, Grandparents, Albert and Carol Yamaoka, and Uncle Gary Yerk. He leaves behind his Grandma, Fran Wright, Aunts and Uncles: Cyndie (John) Hunter, Bob (Vicki) Wright, Kelly (Cindy) Yamaoka, Sheri Yerk, and David (Debbie) Yamaoka and many cousins and friends.
For the health and safety of his friends and loved ones, a celebration of Zach’s life will be held in the Spring of 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity in honor of Zachary.
