Steven "Steve" M. Nevel

He was born September 14, 1954, in Belvidere to Dale Nevel and Marilyn (Secor) Botterman.

He was a lifelong resident of the Huntley and Marengo area. He graduated from Huntley High School in 1972. He was a well-known Jersey breeder and judge. He enjoyed golfing and riding horses. He especially loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Isaac (Diane) Nevel; his grandchildren, Hudson, Duncan, and Taylor; his siblings, Dale Ann (Glen) Borhart and Keith (Alice) Nevel; his step-father, Ron Botterman, and his aunt, Garnet Anthony.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Friday, June 3, at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson St., Marengo.

A service will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, June 4, at the church.

Interment will be private.
