Patricia Irene Deneen-Hawkins

Patricia Irene Deneen-Hawkins, 87, of Marengo, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024. She was born on October 15, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Theresa (Mathis) Deneen. Patricia grew up in Blue Island, Illinois with her parents and 4 siblings. After graduating from Dwight D. Eisenhower High School, she married and welcomed her three boys, Thomas, Mark & Scott. Patricia returned to the workforce, where she met her lifelong companion John T. Neis. She kept various secretarial jobs until she landed at the American Egg Board, where she worked for over a dozen years.

Patricia was an exceptionally kind and loving person with a great sense of humor. She loved fairs, flea markets and garage sales. She had a flair for the arts, doing many sewing and ceramic projects. Her greatest pride & joy were her grandchildren.

Patricia is survived by her sons, Thomas Hawkins, Mark (Debra) Hawkins & Scott (Evelyn) Hawkins; her grandchildren Andrew (Myra), Kelly (Alejandro), Cassandra, Amber, Jenna; her great-grandchildren Kane & Connor; many beloved nieces & nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, William & Theresa; her siblings Bill, Frank, Jerry & Mary; and John T. Neis.

A visitation will be held for Patricia on Thursday, December 19 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home from 9am-10:45am. A mass will be held at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marengo, IL, followed by a graveside service at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
