James (Jim) Schmid, devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior on February 23, 2021, at the age of 80. Our loss is heaven’s gain of a dedicated high school Math and Computer Science teacher, as well as outstanding football and baseball coach, that impacted so many lives for the better over his 37 years in the classroom and on the fields of play culminating with his induction into the Illinois High School Coaches Hall of Fame.
Please join Jim’s family in a celebration of his life well lived on Friday, July 15 from 4pm to 7pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the Parish Hall (323 North Taylor Street, Marengo, IL 60152). Mass will be held on Saturday, July 16 at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
