Harrison "Harry" Alexander Gay

Harrison (Harry) Alexander Gay, 92, of Marco Island, FL, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2023. Harry, born October 11, 1930, grew up in Baldwin, NY and lived in Massapequa, NY until retiring to Marco Island in 1996. Harry worked as a telephone pioneer, repairman, and repair superintendent for Bell Telephone (NY Bell/later Verizon) until he retired. Harry served in the US Army during the Korean War with the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. Harry was a member of the Association of Bell-Tel Retirees, Inc. and the 82nd Airborne Division Association. He belonged to the Spartan Masonic Lodge in Baldwin, NY, the Cypress Masonic Lodge in Naples, FL, being a Mason for over 66 years. Harry was a Shriner with the Araba Temple of Ft. Myers, FL, a member of the High Twelve Club 436, the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Temple Valley of Ft. Myers, Orient of Florida, and a member of the United States Power Squadrons-Jones Beach, Long Island, NY and B.P.O.E. Elks, Naples Lodge 2010. He was a member of the Marco Island Shrine Club. Harry will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Harry was predeceased by his wife Lydia and his daughter Lori Lee. Harry is survived by his sons Brian, Clifford, and Kenneth, and his stepchildren Julie and Frank, his grandsons Ryan, Brandon, and Tyler, his step-granddaughters Alexandra and Marissa, his great granddaughter Taylor and his step-great-grandchildren Brianna, Arthur, Ronan and Lydia.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home, 577 E Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL 34145 (239) 394-7573. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home with internment at the Marco Island Cemetery, 489 W. Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL 34145 (239) 394-3469.
