MARBLEHEAD – Edna Betty (Clark) Brown, 96, a longtime resident of Marblehead, passed away on April 24, 2021. Edna was the beloved wife of the late Webster Loring Brown with whom she shared 18 years of marriage until his passing in 1965.
Edna was born in Marblehead, the daughter of the late Guy and Anna (Rodgers) Clark. She was the loving mother of Dana W. Brown and his companion, Mary Wetmore of Salem, and Jeffrey L. Brown of Haverhill; the cherished grandmother of Justin Brown and his wife Deana of Rogers, Arkansas, Jeffrey Brown, Jr. and his wife, Bethany of Groveland, Brian Brown and his wife, Jen of Haverhill and Lori Walsh and her husband, Vern of Beverly; the adoring great-grandmother of Alanna, Brian, Jr., Michael, Josh, Kayla, Ethan and Zoe; and the dear sister of Lida Russell of Stuart, Florida, and brothers, the late Wesley, Hollis, Bud and Stan Clark. She was also the aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Edna was a proud homemaker who dedicated her life to raising and taking care of her family at their home on Whittier Road in Marblehead. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, enjoyed dancing and listening to rock ’n’ roll music and supported both of her sons in their music and band activities. Edna was also known to her family as a “rigger upper” , making something work when needed.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 28th, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Eustis & Cornell of Marblehead, 142 Elm Street with appropriate social distancing and attendance restrictions in place. Due to pandemic restrictions, funeral services and burial in Waterside Cemetery will be private.
