Daniel Christopher Knittle, of Marblehead, MA, passed away unexpectedly and much too young, at the age of 24, in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 4, 2018. He was born in Boston on February 16, 1994. Chris had a beautiful smile, a kind heart, and a sensitive soul. He had endless energy and loved adventure. He was happiest when painting and drawing, skateboarding on a perfect summer day, diving off the highest rock into cool water, or snowboarding on snow-covered mountains.
Chris was a graduate of Marblehead High School class of 2012. He played lacrosse, football, youth soccer, and baseball. Chris was a talented and gifted artist who painted and drew constantly, and his original mural work is located inside many North Shore businesses. He was excited to receive an invitation to paint at Art Basel in Miami and was proud to participate in the creation of a memorable wall.
Chris is survived by his loving family, his parents Mimi and Marc Knittle, his brother Brad, and his sister Emma all of Marblehead, MA. He will be deeply missed by his grandparents, Jean and Marshall Davis of Plymouth, MA and Joyce Knittle of Williamsport, PA; as well as his aunts and uncles, Janine and Garrick Connelly of Barrington, RI; Tammy and Mark Bevan of Cary, NC; Barbara and Frank Morrone and Lois and Tony Greico of Williamsport, PA; and Nancy and Howard Sawhill of Chapel Hill, NC; as well as many loving cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Dr. Galal Ahmed of Pompano Beach, FL.
Most of all, Chris loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoying life, smiling, having fun, and making people laugh. In his passing, perhaps he has found the Anser and we will join him, in time, in eternal peace.
Visiting hours will be held at Eustis and Cornell of Marblehead, 142 Elm Street on Thursday, August 9 from 4-8PM. Funeral services for Chris will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Chris’ name to The Family Restored, a support service and scholarship fund dedicated to providing assistance for families to get their loved ones the help they need.
