Sylvano Garcia was born in Seguin Texas. He joined the Marine Corps in 1953 and got an honorable discharge in 1953. He married Lucy Ribera Garcia in 1954. He lived in Austin, San Antonio and finally settled in Marble Falls. He is survived by two daughters Alicia Luz Rivera and Sylvana Josie Vaughn, 10 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Crescendo Garcia and Guillerma Garcia, 5 younger brothers and sisters, his wife Lucy Garcia who passed away on June 4, 2024, his daughter Guillerma Sosa and one granddaughter.
You would remember Sylvano worked in many different occupations, but his last was landscaping and working on his cars.
I would spend time talking to my parents about what they would want when they would move on. My father would say to my mom “when you go, I will be right behind you.” That’s what happened 20 days later they are together again.
Sylvano and Lucy Garcia will be put to rest on July 10th at 2:15 p.m. at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Sylvano will receive Marine Corps Honors with a gun salute and a flag dedication.
