Robert Davis Kiker

Robert (Bob) Davis Kiker, 87 years old, of Horseshoe Bay, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024. “He slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God.” He was born November 17, 1937 in Snyder, Texas to Doyle and Frances(Howell) Kiker. He was raised in Colorado City, Texas.

He was very active in golf, tennis, and drama throughout his high school years. He attended Boys’ State in Austin, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He was involved in ROTC in college and upon graduation, entered OCS and served active duty in the US Navy for four years. He continued to serve in US Navy Reserves and was honorably discharged as a Commander. After retirement from a lengthy and successful career with Conoco-Phillips, he continued to serve the oil & gas industry as a consultant; he traveled the world as a teacher and mentor for the industry.

He married Violet Jean Curtis and they had two children: Robert Davis II and Kimberly Jean. After 44 years of marriage and the death of Violet Jean, Bob married another “Jean”…a pair of Jeans! Bob and Jean Kiker just recently celebrated 20 years of marriage. In 2017, they retired and found a home in paradise…otherwise known as Horseshoe Bay.

Bob was actively serving God through The Church at Horseshoe Bay. He and Jean also enjoyed an active golf community at Blue Lake Golf Course.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and son Robert Davis II. He is survived by his beloved wife Jean Kiker, daughter Kimberly Jean, and step children David Scott and Amy Susanne. From his blended family, he is survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, cousin Gloria May and other cousins.

The family wishes to thank his doctors and medical staff @ Baylor Scott & White, Dell Seton and The Brixton for their care and compassion during the final 4 months of his life. Celebration of Life services are pending.
