He was born on October 26, 1937 in Austin, TX to Bessie Marie and Levi Becton Crownover. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Barbara Ann Collier, with whom he was united in marriage in June 1, 1959.
Robert had a life-long career at Cold Spring Granite for 42 years. He was a graduate of Marble Falls High School. After retiring, he and Barbara lived in the family home built in 1854 after renovating it completely. He enjoyed ranching here for the remainder of his years.
Robert was a lover of traditional country music and enjoyed singing and playing guitar for The Sundowners band. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marble Falls until they began attending Walnut Methodist Church in Round Mountain. He was also involved in the local Rotary Club and was an avid hunter and angler.
Robert is survived by his devoted daughters Debra and husband Steve Dickens and Janet and husband Mike Myrick. He leaves behind four loving grandchildren: Morgan and husband Seth Harris, Hudson Dickens, Falon and husband Alan Figurski, and Levi Holland and wife Ashton. Robert was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Vail Harris, Ridge Harris, Maeve Figurski, Zane Figurski, and Becton Holland.
A church service will be held at Walnut Methodist Church in Round Mountain, TX on November 26, 2024 at 2pm. Reception to immediately follow service at the church pavilion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to the Walnut Methodist Church or the Comanche Creek Cemetery.
