Martha Lucille Havard was born on February 13, 1931 in Baytown, Texas to parents Carrie Marshall Havard and Winston Alvy Havard. They preceded her in death, as did her brothers, Kenneth Harrel Havard and Jesse Ray Havard, and stepbrothers James A, Harrison and L.T. Harrison, Jr. She was married to B.W. Johnson, Jr. from July 30, 1950 to his death on February 28, 2004. She is survived by daughter Cynthia Lynne Johnson of Horseshoe Bay, son Blane Alan Johnson and wife Kelly of Lincolnton, North Carolina, and daughter Kelsey Lou Johnson Philhower of Tucson, Arizona. After the death of B.W., the Lord brought another wonderful and Godly man into her life, and she married James Stuard on March 11, 2006. She gained three more precious sons and their families: Jimmy D. Stuard and wife Ellie of Cedar Hill, Texas; Terry L. Stuard and wife Elaine of Dallas, Texas, Michael D. Stuard and wife Deborah of Heeny, Colorado, seven step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
Martha was Drum Major of the Famous R.E. Lee Band, and attended Lee College in Baytown, Texas. She retired from Goose Creek I.S.D. as a secretary at Baytown Jr. High in 1981. B.W. built their retirement home on the lake in Kingsland, Texas, where they quickly made friends and joined the choir at Kingsland First Baptist Church. She was a President and Life Member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, past President of Burnet Federated Women's Club, a member of Kingsland Lady Lions, Burnet Arts & Crafts, Highland Lakes Arts & Crafts, and Country Cousins Dance Squares. Martha began art classes and painted portraits of her children as well as landscapes, wildlife, and still life, with many of her paintings purchased by Hill Country area banks, businesses and individuals. She and her husband Jim have been long-time members of the H.O.P.E. Class at First Baptist Church of Marble Falls since their marriage in 2006. She loved to study the Bible and shared her faith willingly.
"I made my decision to be a follower of the Lord Jesus when I was 11 years of age. My desire has been to live within His will and be the witness He has called me to be. I have been on a journey with Jesus, my Lord and Savior."
