She graduated from Chicago Christian High in 1945 and in 1948 she graduated from Roseland Community Hospital of Nursing with her RN. Marian worked as a nurse for many years, their family fostered babies, she collected dolls for many years, she was active politically, and a life-long member of the John Birch society. She was a faithful church member her entire life and was always serving others. She loved to study the bible and also taught many bible studies. She was an excellent pianist and often played for church services and at nursing homes. She volunteered at the food pantry and the dental clinic into her 90's. She loved her family very much and was so proud of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a gift for making those around her feel special and loved. She was constantly pointing others to Jesus Christ.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband Donald Schultz, her mother and father Albert and Carrie Jellema, her brother John Bernard who died in World War II, her 3 sisters Gertrude, Alice and Esther as well as her daughter in law Barbara Schultz.
She is survived by her son Donald Schultz and his wife Patricia as well as Don and Barb's 5 children and 4 grandchildren, her son Jimmy Schultz and his wife Cindy, their 8 children and 11 grandchildren and daughter Karrie Byrd and her husband Jim along with their 2 children and 7 grandchildren.
