He was born July 16, 1953 in Burlington, North Carolina to parents John Hilton Hill and Clara Florence Boone.
JR is preceded in death by his parents, John Hilton Hill and Clara Florence Boone.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Michelle Brewer Hill, his son, Steve Hill and wife Amanda, two brothers, Paul Hill and wife Vickie, Phillip Hill and wife Suzanne, two grandsons, Reagan and Preston Hill and two granddaughters, Averi Hays and Madi Nail, several nieces/nephews and other family & friends.
JR married the love of his life, Michelle Brewer on May 7, 1976. They welcomed their only child, Steve Anthony Hill into this world on February 9, 1979.
JR grew up in Marble Falls, Texas most of his life and graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1971.
JR and Michelle lived in Marble Falls for the most of their marriage, until they moved to Bertram a few years ago.
JR proudly served in the United States Army.
He began his career as a Farmer’s Insurance Agent in the late 1980s and had his office in Marble Falls. He was looking forward to retirement this year.
JR was a huge family man and loved his family tremendously. He was very proud of his son, grandchildren and was very happy to attend his oldest grandson (Reagan’s) United States Marine Corps graduation in April. Reagan being a Marine was one of JR’s favorite things to talk about. He was so proud of Reagan for joining the Marines.
JR loved to travel. He loved people and would talk to anyone and about anything that came to mind. He never met a stranger.
He loved dogs and his favorite dog was Steve and Amanda’s dog, Stella who he called Squirt. He spoiled Stella anytime he would see her.
His favorite sports to play were golf and bowling. He was a big bowler in his past years and played on a bowling league. He would still play at times, when he could, and would join Steve and his bowling league recently to watch them and give Steve bowling advice.
JR was the BIGGEST Texas Longhorns fan and would never miss a football game during the season. He would always make sure he and Michelle were home for the time the game would start. He also loved watching FOX news.
JR was a great man and would do anything to help someone. His love for all of us will be missed daily.
A Celebration of Life for JR will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 10:00AM at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls, Texas.
