Our precious mother and granny, Frauna Marie Thompson, died suddenly on June 6, 2024. She was 69. Frauna’s life was a collection of chapters that told a story of grace, dedication, love, and kindness.
Frauna was the heart of our home and family. She devoted her life to her children, her husband, and helping others. Frauna was married to her soulmate, Randy. As a grandmother she was the "funny granny," with so many stories and laughs. Frauna was born in Fort Worth, Texas on August 20, 1954 to William Matern, Jr and Anna Ruth Matern.
Frauna lived in many places throughout her life. She enjoyed living in Austin in her younger years and worked for a short time with her mother at The School for the Blind. She later moved back to Marble Falls and worked as a custodian at the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the church and cherished being in the choir. She had several other jobs while at the church and she enjoyed being a part of the Fairland Cemetery Association as the treasurer. She loved spending time with her family and friends, fishing, gardening, telling stories, and laughing. Her grace and kindness will be deeply missed. Frauna was known for her hearty laugh, well known, “Hey Y'all”, and her kind heart. Frauna would talk to anyone and everyone, she never had judgment towards anyone and wanted to help everyone she could.
She is survived by her children, Buster Thompson and wife Michelle, Jacob Thompson, and Bonnie Talamantez and husband John-Michael. Her favorite people, her grandchildren Christopher, Alexander, Tori and Kindall. She is also survived by her brother William Matern III and wife Jo and many in laws and nieces and nephews. Frauna is preceded in death by her loving husband Morris Randall Thompson, her parents, Randy’s parents and many more that were overjoyed to greet her at the gates of Heaven.
There will be a visitation at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, June 17th at 5pm-7pm. The funeral service will be graveside at Fairland Cemetery June 18th at 10am.
If she could leave anything behind, it would be that we all learn to love others. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
