Eldred Ray Morris, 94, of Marble Falls Texas passed away on December 4 2024. Eldred was born to Raymond and Lena Morris on December 26 1929 in Oakalla Texas. He attended school in Briggs, Texas and after graduation served 2 years in the Army. Following a long career as meat market manager for an Austin Rylander grocery store, Eldred, along with his wife Gladys, trained in ministry at Christ for the Nations in Dallas Texas. After serving at Hope Village in Amarillo, Texas for several years, Eldred and Gladys resigned from the ministry to care for his sister, Lavelle, following her stroke. Eldred and Gladys moved to Marble Falls in 1987 and he kept busy with part time jobs; his favorite being at Hill Country Community Theater. Eldred was a founding member of Victory Church of Highland Lakes, hosting prayer at his home prior to the church being established. During their long marriage, Eldred and Gladys enjoyed RV trips around the U. S., volunteering as park hosts in New Mexico, and making a memorable trip to Israel with friends.
If you knew Eldred, you knew his gentle and patient spirit, his love for Jesus, his kindness and willingness to literally give you the shirt off his back. Friends remember how Eldred could fix any kind of problem around the house. And don’t forget jigsaw puzzles; he worked hundreds in his 94 years. Eldred with his ever-present smile and happy chuckle was loved by all who knew him.
Eldred is preceded in death by his two sisters, Arlene Graham and Lavelle Jackson, niece Linda Jones, daughter Cynthia Noah, and great grandson Lance Yanta. He is survived by his wife Gladys, and children Susan Morris, Gerrie Gaskins, Marilyn Williams (Alton), Bill Gaskins (Mary), son-in-law Robert Noah (Cynthia); grandsons Randall Morris (Sarah), Wade Hollman (Angie) and Christopher Gaskins; granddaughters Beverly Taborsky (Steven), Wendy Yanta (Brian) and Stacia Gaskins; 16 great grandchildren Julian Almaguer, Jenna Lindstrom, Tyler Morris, Colton Morris, Logan Morris, Hagen Morris, Mike Taborsky, Chris Taborsky (Lauren), Danielle Vermillion (William), Bailey Hollman, Riley Hollman, Colby Hollman, Brooke Yanta, Abby Yanta; 5 great-great granddaughters and a great-great grandson.
