Dave was born in Houston, Texas on January 25, 1959 to Richard and Emma Jean Morgan. Dave grew up in Bowie, Maryland, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. His athletic excellence led him to play football at the University of North Carolina and Shippensburg State.
Dave moved to Texas in 1980, where he lived in Houston before settling in Marble Falls. Dave met his beautiful wife, Christine, at Lake County Lanes in 1986. They married on November 16, 1991. They started their family with the birth of their son, David, born May 19, 1993 and their daughter Megan, born September 4, 1996.
Dave owned a landscaping business for many years; however, coaching his kids in youth sports led him to realize his true calling ~ working with children. He was employed with Marble Falls ISD where he worked as a P.E. Coach at Colt Elementary for 16 years. During his tenure, he touched the lives of countless families.
When Dave was not coaching, he enjoyed golfing, bird watching, and all things sports-related. Dave loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys, but willingly became a fan of the Minnesota Vikings when his son was drafted in 2016. Dave was known for his contagious smile and caring compassion for young and old. His jokes and witty sense of humor are legendary.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Frank and Florence Scott.
He is survived by his wife Christine; his children David (Langlie) and Megan; his sisters Melody Ellis and Stella Susan Morgan (Tom Beilke); brothers-in-law Frank Scott, Guy Scott (Lori); nieces April Lyon, Taylor Scott, Tia Scott, Tiffany Scott, and Amber Newman; nephews Josh Ellis, Frank Michael Scott, and Daniel Beilke. He also leaves behind a crew of great-nieces and nephews. Dave will be missed by Coco, his beloved dog.
The Morgan family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Shaw and the staff at Texas Oncology, as well as AccentCare Hospice. We are grateful for the many loving friends and caring community who supported Dave and our family in so many ways.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Max Copeland Gym at Marble Falls High School on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
