Virginia M. Stafford, 95, of Mansfield, died Friday afternoon, February 27, 2004, at Twin Oaks Care Center. She was born September 28, 1908, in Loudonville, Ohio and was a Mansfield area homemaker her entire life. She and her husband had owned and operated several grocery stores in the Mansfield area. Virginia was a member of American Legion Post #16 Auxiliary for 32 years and the V.F.W. Post #3494 Auxiliary.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a cousin, Marie Swanger of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Sarah Crum Schueler; husband, Charles Stafford in 1954; son, Richard Stafford; brother, Edwin Schueler; and sisters, Helena Harbarger and Jeanette Page.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may call at the funeral home one-hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Shelter in care of the funeral home.
