Steven worked at Carter Lumber in sales. He would never tell anyone no and would take the shirt off of his back for you. He loved NASCAR, football and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He enjoyed racing especially on dirt tracks, playing poker and darts and drinking beer. He especially enjoyed watching his grandson, Ricky play football and his dog, Gunney who was his best friend.
He is survived by his wife, Christine (Bruene) Phelps; his children, Jennifer King, Anthony King, Deanna Reuer, Amber Phelps and Ashley Phelps; his grandchildren, Gavin, Devin, Gabriele, Massah, Ricky, Brooklyn, Anna, Michael, Braxton and Serenity; a great grandson on the way, Grayson; and several other grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Phelps.
A Celebration of Steven’s life will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at his residence, 370 Ruby Avenue, Mansfield, starting at 3:00 p.m.
